The Maternity team at Darent Valley Hospital are committed to supporting you to feed and build a strong nurturing relationship with your baby from pregnancy. All staff involved in your care are trained in infant feeding and able to answer your questions and offer practical support in pregnancy, birth and during the first weeks of your baby’s life. We also have a Specialist Infant Feeding team who support families and staff when extra help is required. The team provides evidence-based information through classes and other resources and ensures that you find the support available for you and your baby in the community.

Caroline Jordan

Infant Feeding Specialist Midwife 

As the lead for infant feeding for Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust, I am responsible for training staff so that they are able to support women and their families in their chosen mode of feeding. I have worked for the trust for 12 years and have led our Unicef Caroline Jordan.jpgBaby Friendly journey, which culminated in full accreditation in 2017. 

I am passionate about supporting women and families through their parenting journeys. I and have undertaken additional training to become a lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and a Professional Midwifery Advocate (PMA).

 


Ana Llorente

Clinical Support Worker to Specialist Midwives 

I am a Maternity Support Worker providing clinical assistance to the Infant Feeding, Parent Education and Diabetes specialist teams. An important part of my work is dedicated to supporting families clinically and providing feeding and general antenatal education.
