The Maternity team at Darent Valley Hospital are committed to supporting you to feed and build a strong nurturing relationship with your baby from pregnancy. All staff involved in your care are trained in infant feeding and able to answer your questions and offer practical support in pregnancy, birth and during the first weeks of your baby’s life. We also have a Specialist Infant Feeding team who support families and staff when extra help is required. The team provides evidence-based information through classes and other resources and ensures that you find the support available for you and your baby in the community.

Anna Le Grange - Infant Feeding Coordinator
As the lead for infant feeding for Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust, I am responsible for training and supporting staff so that they are able to facilitate women, birthing parents and their families in their chosen mode of feeding their baby. I have been a registered children's nurse for 26 years and a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) since 2015.
I am passionate about prioritising family emotional wellbeing in the early stages of parenthood and believe that support with feeding your baby is key. If you would like infant feeding support from me or a member of the team you can contact us at:

Infant Feeding Support Workers
The infant feeding support workers provide education and feeding support on the wards at Darent Valley Hospital. They can answer your questions about feeding your baby, support you whilst you learn to latch your baby onto the breast, and can share information about hand expressing and knowing when your baby is feeding well.
